A Hall of Famer who helped make baseball so popular has died, his family said.
Hall of Famed baseball player Chuck Berry died Sunday, the family said in a statement.
Berry was the first Hall of Famers to be honored with a lifetime achievement award in 1965.
He was also the first pitcher to be enshrined in the Hall of Famous, in 2018.
His wife, Dorothy, said in the statement that he was a true friend to all who have worked with him over the years.
The elder Berry was inducted into the Hall in June.
