Westfield has unveiled its new stadium project in Sydney’s south-west.
The $1.6 billion Westfield Soccer Stadium will house 20,000 seats, 12,000 more than the existing venue.
It will also have more than 200,000 square metres of ground to play on.
Construction has started on the project, which is expected to open in 2021.
The $6 billion Stadium will also include a new entertainment venue, a new venue, the main ground level and a new club level.
The ground floor will be used for a new cafe and restaurant.
Construction on the stadium is expected at a cost of $2.2 billion.
Construction is also underway on the new club levels.
A new restaurant, bar and lounge is planned on the west end of the stadium.
Westfield has been looking to expand its existing venue in Sydney.
Last year the stadium opened to the public, with fans enjoying a view of the harbour and the city from the terraces.
It is also due to be the home of the Sydney FC and has a capacity of over 14,000.
Westfields Stadium will be one of the biggest sports stadiums in the world.
