Covington, Louisiana – A decade ago, it would have been hard to imagine college graduates being as popular as they are today.
But that’s exactly what happened when the College Board released its latest College Graduates Index, which ranked colleges by how many college grad the population.
Covington’s median household income is just over $50,000 a year, and just under 70 percent of graduates have a bachelor’s degree, the latest data show.
A little more than a third of graduates live in poverty, according to the data, which comes from a survey of 1,000 graduates from the colleges that were chosen.
College grads account for more than two-thirds of the population of Louisiana, according the survey.
Louisiana has more than 3,200 colleges, but fewer than half of those have at least 100 students, according ToTheNews.com.
New Orleans has more high school graduates than any other city, according statistics.
